Die Hard
Donated by jamiesbaby - thanks :)
A fantastic action film, even though the 80s fashion and hair styles date it
a bit.
It could so easily have been another "Bruce Willis in a vest" film,
had it not been for the silky, seductive villain.
Plucked from the stage production "Les Liaisons Dangereuses", this was
Alan Rickman's Hollywood debut - and he arrived onto the big screen looking
every inch the star. Tall, lean, sultry, and incredibly convincing as Hans
Gruber, he produced a performance that had me wishing the baddies could win the
day for once!!
This was the role that should have catapulted him to superstardom, yet he
remains a surprisingly underrated actor. Not to those who have followed his
acting career, however...
Here's a bit of trivia for you all! On the special features commentary, it is
mentioned that he did some of his own stunts. The bit where he falls out of the
window? They said they would drop him on the count of 3...only they dropped him
on 2....that look of shock/horror?! Some of that's for real!!!
