This is a cert 18 film as it contains strong language and explicit scenes. It also reveals an incestuous relationship between a brother (played by Clive Owen) and sister (Saskia Reeves).

Alan Rickman (Sinclair Bryant) is something of an intellectual eccentric, married to a very mixed up young lady (Saskia Reeves). They're rich and live an idyllic lifestyle but things start to go wrong when her brother comes on the scene...

Sinclair's emotional and intellectual turmoil is beautifully portrayed. Not the fiery wrath you may expect; instead the sense of hurt, betrayal, confusion and a modicum of sympathy. Watch his face, his subtle expressions, his hands (rrrrrrrr).

For Alan Rickman fans, this is a showcase piece of work. Not only is his acting second to none, his looks and physique are shown to the best - blonde unruly hair, good clothes and smoldering eyes. Clive Owen is a little upstaged...

Saskia Reeves is a tad irritating as the woman who has it all, wants more and risks everything. Clive Owen displays great vulnerability and his is a great performance.

The film has a very 80s feel. Also, for Rickmaniacs, note the small children running around on the lawn - apparently, he has his nieces in the film!!
