Rapper delights in HBO film role
"..."Mos Def is so much like Vivien, it's incredible. And Alan Rickman - he has an English accent, but he can get to Blalock's characteristic Southern drawl," Baker said.

In one scene that Baker consulted on, Rickman was playing Blalock when he was angry. The scene went fine, but after Baker told the British actor that Blalock often stomped his feet when he was mad, Rickman did it again, adding a stomp..."

Question from Matt
JWhat was it like filming the Boggart scene in POA? Was it funny seeing Alan Rickman dressed in those clothes?

Matthew
You can't imagine how funny it was. Alan Rickman is a really, really nice guy but he's still really, really scary so to see him dressed like that was hilarious.

From a Q&A session with Daniel Radcliffe on danradcliffe.co.uk:
-
Question: Have you played any pranks on anyone during the filming of POA? Did anyone play a prank on you?

Dan: During POA Alfonso and Alan Rickman put a whoopee cushion in my sleeping bag in the Great Hall and when I started to move it went off. The scene was a very quiet one so you can imagine the hysteria which took place once everyone heard it.

Alan mentioned in an article about HP's Jamie Waylett, from the-leaky-cauldron.org:

"Even the adults are in on the fun. When dressed as Neville’s grandmother for the Boggart scene, Alan Rickman got right into character, calling out, ‘Hello, love!’ to all who passed him in his dress — as did his body double.

“Oh yeah, I was there when he filmed it,” says Jamie. “It was funny. Hairy legs.”

Countingdown.net forum:
Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban: It hits theatres next week but already a description of the teaser trailer attached to "Looney Tunes: Back in Action" is online at Countingdown. There's lots of new footage on offer, here's just a sampling of some of the best shots mentioned to keep muggles satisfied for at least a few days: It shows the knight bus swerving through traffic; In one scene Snape comes out of the closet and Lupin is behind Neville and Neville turns Snape into his grandma, the bogart part (very funny); You see Snape pointing his wand at harry (but the wand is lit up); A shot of Sirius Black in his cell; Hagrid's arms are in the air and in the background you can see his class running away, I'm guessing its the hippogriff; Finally (very cool part) you see the Dementors hand opening the cabin door to the train. The full trailer description can be found here. Thanks to 'Jackie', 'Patrick', 'Ellis' & 'Geri'

HPatPoA: Emma Thompson is Trelawny in Prisoner of Azkaban Source: Herald Sun Saturday, October 4, 2003

The Herald Sun reports that Emma Thompson is now part of the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban cast.

Emma Thompson will make a guest appearance as the eccentric Professor Trelawny, completing an ensemble cast that boasts Gary Oldman, Julie Christie and Robert Hardy.

Filming is nearly finished at Leavesdon, near Londaon, but the movie is not due for release until June. Pre-production on the fourth film began this week.

[note from me: I thought this was interesting since Emma Thompson costarred with Alan in Sense and Sensibility. Other actors in both Sense and Sensibility and Harry Potter moves are Gemma Jones (Mrs. Dashwood, Madame Pomfrey), Elizabeth Spriggs (Mrs. Jennings, Fat Lady), and Robert Hardy (Sir John Middleton, Cornelius Fudge) (the same Robert Hardy in the article).]

Love Actually: An article and some photos - though unfortunately none of Alan - here.

The title of 'Love Actually' was apparently changed to 'Love, Actually' and then apparently changed once again to 'Love Actually is All Around'. There is a photo gallery here at IMDB and the IMDB main page for it here.
It appears to be rated R for sexuality, nudity, and language.

HEAVY RAIN HALTS HARRY POTTER FILMING IN GLEN
09:00 - 17 May 2003

Heavy rain spoiled play for Harry Potter and his co-stars in Glencoe yesterday. Young wizard actor Daniel Radcliffe and his schoolmate co-stars were sent to their portable-building classroom for study lessons as the bad weather halted filming on the set.
Daniel, Rupert Grint who plays Ron Weasley, and Emma Watson as Hermione Granger, were spotted laughing and joking under the cover of a huge umbrella as they made their way down the hill from Hagrid's Hut, built near the Clachaig Inn, in the teeming rain.
The rain also stopped outdoor filming on Tuesday, and the crew had to film interior scenes for the movie in Fort William.
It is understood that the dark scenes when an executioner visits Hagrid's Hut were put together then, and Professor Dumbledore - played by Michael Gambon - was also at work.
The stars are believed to be staying in the Isles of Glencoe Hotel at Ballachulish near Glencoe, although they were spotted enjoying a meal in Fort William earlier in the week.

From Kerry: "I had heard a little while back that Alan was moving to Paddington in January. I checked the tax records today (I so love confidential databases) and he isn't anywhere in Westminster. so the rumour was, it would seem, just a rumour." Thanks, Kerry :)

Mr. Rickman was involved in the Lysistrata Project yesterday in London - an ancient Greek woman wrote a play about women protesting war by withholding sex from men until they outlawed war.
There was a worldwide effort that culminated yesterday in plays in over fifty states and fifty-six nations.
